BEFORE YOU READ THE SORY BELOW, PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION! IT WILL GIVE YOU SOME INFO ABOUT MY PERSONA, WHO IS THE MAIN CHARACTER IN THIS SHORT STORY. THANK YOU!

A gentle breeze blew across the soft grass. The sky was a brilliant bright blue, with no cloud in sight. Birds sang softly, a beautiful melody. The perfect day for hunting.

Behind a tree, just beyond the meadow, stood a wolf. A werewolf to be precise. She was a lone-wolf, and had no pack, although she tremendously wished she had one.

Her yellow eyes scanned the area, searching for food to eat. Wolf hadn’t eaten in four hours, which was bad for her health. Scenting the air wouldn’t be much help. No animal was in sight, except for birds, and squirrels. Sadly though, they wouldn’t satisfy. They would never satisfy. She needed real meat.

At last, her eyes locked on an Elk, grazing, only ten meters away. It looked completely relaxed. Good. This way, the animal would be so unprepared, and attacking from behind would be the easiest and quickest option. Still, she’d have to watch out for those powerful kicks hoofed animals seem to do. Wolf wondered why it wasn’t with its herd, or why it was is the middle of nowhere. How ironic, she thought. The werewolf silently smiled a toothy grin, and licked her lips. She wouldn’t lose this one. Not now. The female got on all fours, low to the ground, her leg and arm muscles bunching. She counted down in her head. 3…2…1…RUN!

Wolf shot out like a bullet from her hiding place, not even bothering to be quiet and gave chase. The elk whirled around to the source of the sound, only to see Wolf gaining closer to her target. Its eyes widened in horror and high-tailed it. The werewolf grunted in frustration, and ran faster; laying her ears back, tail streaming out from behind her.

Soon Wolf was just two meters away, and getting closer with each second. She grinned. The elk didn’t even notice how close she was. Excellent, she thought.

This was the part Wolf loved. The adrenalin, the wind rushing through her mane and hair, but at the same time the sun tanning her brown, grey, and white fur. The speed she was running, the sound of paw and hoof pounding the ground. Her heart pumping faster and faster, and all this came when she gets so close to her prey, to catch it. She absolutely loved it.

All of a sudden, the elk stopped short, and kicked Wolf in the chest, sending her flying back ten feet. She landed on her back, hard. Yelping in pain, she held her chest and sat up, only to see her game run away again. Her eyes widened. “No, no, no, no, no! Not this time!” She shouted, getting to her feet. The anxious werewolf took a running start, than jumped in the air, landing on all fours, and ran after her prey.

Wolf was again, just behind the elk, this time being more cautious. She was just about to pounce on its back, when it tripped. The gigantic beast fell to the ground with a loud –THUMP- Wolf saw this as her chance and pounced onto her victim. She slammed her jaws onto its neck, feeling warm blood rush into her mouth. The werewolf wasn’t a huge fan for blood, though she didn’t complain about it. She liked the actual meat. So tender, juicy, warm and fresh. She felt the life of the elk slip away in her jaws. She saw it take one big inhale, than went limp in her grasp. This was the part she always hated. Watching as the animal’s life parted from the body forever, with her own eyes. She sighed and gave thanks for giving its life for her. She smiled at the sky, and slowly began to feed.
